Battery use while sleeping, and with a full shutdown and startup

We measure our use of the battery while asleep, and with a full shutdown and start-up, through a series of miniature periods of an hour, two hours, then four, eight, 12, and a test, 24 hours. In all cases, actively running programs are closed before a dream or off. Batteries lose charge even when you're not doing anything, just sitting at a computer near the load close and establish a system does not make it an obvious choice, as we shall see below.

We did not test the time of hibernation, since, in general, hibernation is a stop to explain the current state of computer hard disk, and attracts almost as much power as a complete shutdown. If hibernation seems to start again quickly on your system, which can also be a smart choice, as you can set your power manager to replacement laptop battery turn the dream into hibernation after a certain number of hours. Your mileage may vary depending on hibernation, however, I found that it is not as reliable, and slow on my main laptop.

Finally, a note on the MacBook Pro, I was trying to "get out of the box, so to speak, without changing any of the preferences of their power. The new Mac can go" deeper "sleep with a mixture of writing hibernate-disk as RAM and stored in suspension, and mixing can be changed by utilities such as SmartSleep. For the purposes of this test, however, I am using the population as a superior first-class dream , which became very quickly after a nap, up to eight hours.

The primary test involved two different teams. One is my trusty Lenovo ThinkPad T61p with Windows 7. The battery has been proven, however, is a longer term, nine-cell battery that I ordered almost exactly a year ago (from LaptopBatteryExpress), which is only used when the power cord you have, stay close to the battery my action-dead in the rest of the time. The other is the battery inside the brand new 15-inch MacBook Pro

I put both the ThinkPad and MacBook through one, two, four, and the cycles of sleep eight hours, and measured the ThinkPad after shutdown and start-up after eight hours. Far end MacBook eight hours will be added later today, missing due to a silly mistake and maintenance.

This is the amount of charge of the ThinkPad and MacBook lost during eight hours of sleep, and how the ThinkPad gone with a stop and start.
